His insurance turned him down and he couldnt afford it out of pocket.

Eventually, Adam found someone who could help.

A fellow Redditor namedKnown_Hippo4702took an existing design and worked to customize it.

Prosthetics like Adams are expensive and must bereplaced every few yearsdue to typical wear and tear.

So, they are costly and continue to be so in perpetuity.
