An exciting piece of history in American photography has just found its new home.

It is believed to be the oldest image of a First Lady of the United States.

Her gaze is piercing, but shows a bit of amusement.

it’s possible for you to tell she was a commanding and venerable woman.

Plumbe, a Welsh-born immigrant, tried to create a daily publication featuring portraits of interesting public characters.

As a result, he became one of the most famous 19th-century photographers in the U.S.

He was also an entrepreneur who established studios in more than a dozen cities.

It will now be preserved in perpetuity for the public.
